Correct welding damage on other glass in your property
We restore windows, railings, and residential glass partitions with welding pitting caused by metalwork.
Metalwork can damage windows, railings, partitions, and doors that were already installed. The dots are not dirt; they are small physical defects distributed across the glass.
What is happening to your glass
Grilles, pergolas, stairs, railings, and metal structures can generate hot particles that travel several meters if the glass is not properly protected.
Why it affects appearance so much
The surface is left with texture, localized haze, and glare. In areas visible from living rooms, terraces, or entrances, the damage reduces the perceived quality of the entire property.
What leaving it or replacing it implies
Leaving the damage means living with it or accepting a replacement that may affect anchors, seals, and finishes. Restoration preserves the original glass and corrects the areas that can be safely reached.
How we restore this pane
- Service for windows, railings, doors, and partitions
- Correction of deep pitting while keeping the glass intact
- Protection adapted to each installation system
- Intervention on the impacted face and within safe working limits
Process specific to this case
- We identify the glazing system, damaged face, height, and distribution of particles.
- We prepare access and protect the surroundings.
- We restore the surface by panes or areas.
- We review reflections and transparency from normal viewing positions.
Deep damage and work limitations
For welding and grinding-spark damage, an approximate technical working distance of 7 to 10 cm is maintained from certain edges. Within the safe area, we restore deep damage without removing the glass when access allows it.
Grupo GNOVIA restores superficial and deep damage when the glass remains intact. Most cases are confirmed using technical information; on-site visits are mainly reserved for large volumes.
Frequently asked questions about this case
What types of glass are included under “other”?
Windows, railings, doors, partitions, residential display cases, and panes that are not part of a table or glass enclosure.
Do you service glass at height?
Yes, with a safe access system defined according to the location.
Can sparks affect both faces?
They normally impact only one face. We visually confirm which face received the particles.
Can you work after the renovation is finished?
Yes. We protect finishes and organize the intervention to reduce disruption in the property.
What happens if a pane cannot withstand the process?
This is very uncommon because Grupo GNOVIA personnel are trained to restore glass using a controlled sequence. In exceptional cases, previously damaged glass may not withstand the intervention. If that occurs, we do not charge for the service performed on that pane; however, we do not assume the replacement cost of glass that was already damaged before work began. This condition is explained clearly before the work starts.
What annealed-glass thickness do you recommend?
We do not recommend restoring 6 mm annealed glass because its lower strength makes it less likely to withstand the process. Annealed glass 9 mm or thicker has a greater probability of withstanding the intervention; even so, service is performed only under the client’s responsibility and with prior acceptance of this condition. Broken, chipped, or fractured glass is not treated.
Do you need an on-site visit to confirm the service?
Not in most cases. We can confirm service remotely using the damage description, dimensions, glass type, location, and access conditions. On-site visits are primarily reserved for construction projects or projects involving a large volume of glass.
